China Street Scenes – Doing electrical wiring above street/in middle of street, originally uploaded by Serenity in China.
I’ve walked down this street a fair number of times. Enough to know it usually has a fair amount of through-traffic and is pretty busy.
Today when I saw these guys . . . I immediately thought of Mike Rowe’s talk on TED.com about working culture in America. The connection for me here was Mike saying that ‘safety first’ is NOT first for a lot of workers who have dirty or dangerous jobs–they have to get the job done, and they try to be safe, but they have to get it DONE.
These guys had to get a job done, and leaning a ladder against power lines in the middle of a fairly busy street was necessary . . .
I’m just surprised there wasn’t more horn blasting fury from drivers who had to slow down to get past them.
