Not sure what to call this exactly . . . but in Changsha (and I imagine around China) this is a very common sight in front of restaurants. A large stainless steel table with hot water under the dishes to keep them warm. Customers select the dishes they want to eat . . . I haven’t eaten at one of these restaurants yet–might try it at some point.
