Another pretty common sight is women of different ages setting up stuff to sell on blankets, pieces of cardboard, small collapseable tables on the sidewalk or any other empty space where there is foot traffic.
I don’t know much about social welfare programs for women in China . . . especially for older women who have lost their husbands.
Considering how competitive it is here for people to find work it must be really hard for younger women who don’t get into colleges/universities . . .
