Recently I started using my Canon EOS 1v film camera because Amy brought Julianne and I film back from America while she was on vacation (thanks Amy). You can buy film in Changsha, or on taubao.com (China’s version of Amazon/Ebay), but we wanted to know we were getting stuff that wasn’t expired, etc, and also ordering 800 ISO film seemed to be hard to find when we looked.
Anyways, I shot a couple rolls of film and then took it to get developed–and my film came back looking like it’d been sitting in sunlight on a desk that has natural disasters on a daily basis for thirty years!
I was NOT impressed, but there was also nothing much I could do other than gnash my teeth and groan . . .
Oh yeah, when I compose my shots I do NOT cut the freaking HEAD off of a subject in the shot . . . whoever developed my film seriously needs to get more training!
Anyways, I’m going to try and find a better place to develop the next roll I shoot.
Wish me luck!
